Meet Amy Beth Clark
In 2024, Amy Beth Clark joined The Debt Defenders by Ciment Law Firm, PLLC . She is excited to have a large team of like-minded people to work with in pursuit of justice and resolutions.
Amy Beth never intended to go to law school. But like many normal people, trying to live a decent life, she kept running into obstacles. From the ridiculous landlord to the credit reporting errors to the car that broke down every other week — it seemed her Daddy was right when he lectured her, “Life’s not fair!” This is the same man who used to tell Amy “You would argue with a telephone pole!” so perhaps it was inevitable that she would discover there were laws that may not be perfect, but they did set rules for fairness no matter if you were a bank or a student, a credit reporting agency or a car buyer, a building owner or a tenant. Amy Beth went quickly and decisively from helping neighbors in her apartment complex to USC law school, taking her end of first year exams on her 30th birthday and opening her first solo law firm in 2006. Since then, Amy Beth has been on a mission to bring first class representation to people with problems she could relate to — mostly regarding money and fairness. Yeah, she still knows that life is not fair, but she uses the laws we have to try and make it a little more so.
Amy’s law firm in 2006 focused on consumer bankruptcy but she soon started bringing her clients to court, helping them fight back against abusive debt collectors. The combination of offering a chance of debt discharge along with the ability to fight for her client’s rights allowed Amy Beth to offer a full set of options for her clients.
Student loans were a burden on so many, so Amy Beth began providing assistance. Finally in 2024, bankruptcy can provide a discharge of federal student loans for many people who have struggled with loans for over ten years and still have not made a dent in the principal.
